DescriptionThe clean agent fire extinguisher contains DuPont HFC-236fa (FE-36), the most widely used substitute for halon 1211, with no harmful effects on the ozone layer, in portable fire extinguishers and for class A, B and C fires. Compared to halon 1211, FE-36 exhibits much lower toxicity and is suitable for use in relatively small enclosures. The extinguisher uses gaseous nitrogen as the expelling agent. FE-36 is discharged in the form of liquid droplets that stop the combustion process through heat absorption and chemical interaction.
